Classes are the place for performers to dive into deeper technique on a weekly basis. Classes, different than a full play/musical production, offer a space for students to learn and explore various disciplines in the performing arts in a safe and inclusive environment! All classes perform in a culminating performance at the end of the semester. All classes take place at Southside Center for the Arts, Room 105.
See below for class options and descriptions
Full scholarships for fees/materials are available!

Mon. 5:00-6:00
Vocal Technique
(Ages 7-18)
Mon. 6:00-7:00
Whether it be a dance performance, vocal performance, or a theatre production, a foundation of acting technique gives performers the tools to effectively tell a story through character expression. Students learn Meisner-based acting technique through the use of improvisation games, acting exercises, text work, and more! Students will perform in the end of semester showcase
This group voice class builds both a love for singing and the technical foundation for correct, healthy, and focused vocals. Students will learn to read sheet music, sing with a group, confidently sing different vocal parts, as well as the best practices for using their voice to be able to project and layer on character expression and storytelling into their vocal performance. Students will perform in the end of semester showcase.
Theatre Dance
(Ages 7-18)
Wed. 4:30-5:30
Theatre Tap
(Ages 7-18)
Wed. 5:30-6:30
The use of dance in theatre requires a flexible performer who is willing to try new things, which is exactly what this class teaches! Students will learn basic dance terminology and technique, and then will focus on adapting to various styles, decades, and genres of dance that are all used in musical theatre. Additionally, students will focus on communicating story/character through their movement. This class performs in the end of semester showcase.
Tap is a specific dance genre used often in musical theatre that requires a specific technical skillset and shoes to learn. Students will learn tap technique, rhythmic skills, and terminology, then will apply this to musical theatre by learning to truly perform tap steps in a way that effectively communicates the story. This class performs in the end of semester showcase.
